Recently a group of teachers took a walking tour of Chinatown. There are so many fascinating aspects of that neighborhood, including its proximity to Little Italy. At times it was hard to tell where one neighborhood began and the other one ended. Many aspects of these neighborhoods have changed since Tony and Henry lived there in the 1920s, although many of the buildings still look the same.
Currently Chinatown is a vibrant immigrant neighborhood. There are many details to notice that suggest how it is evolving for the future. Can you notice any relationships with other immigrant groups in the area? It is quite a diverse area despite the fact that it is mainly Chinese. Why do you think that is so?
